On the Title: Mandingo Madness

What do I think gives people the most pause about this book? The title. Full stop. I like the alliteration, but it is intimidating. I think that it was, ultimately, a good choice, because if you’re not courageous enough to pick the book up because of the title, then are you mature enough and honest enough and vulnerable enough to withstand what’s past the cover?

Be courageous. People may clutch their pearls or think that their friends will judge them for reading this book, but once you push past that and grab the work, you’ll realize this got past multiple gatekeepers and checkpoints. This isn’t erotica or intended to stimulate you sexually. It’s an intellectual venture and a deep conversation starter on an insidious media industry.
